Who are we hiring?

The Westchester Knicks are seeking a skilled Daktronics Operator to manage the execution of all video and graphics on the in-arena LED boards during the 2024-25 NBA G League season. This role is essential for updating the sponsorship rotational schedule, editing partner graphics, and managing all partner assets to ensure seamless game-day presentations. The Daktronics Operator reports directly to the Manager of Event Production, playing a vital role in enhancing the visual experience for fans and sponsors alike.

The Westchester Knicks play 24 home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. Background checks will be administered through Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. and the NBA.

What will you do?

  • Proficiently operate Daktronics scoreboards and LED systems to ensure smooth in-arena video and graphics display. 
  • Set up and manage the stats, scoring, and timing systems within the arena. 
  • Collaborate with the Engineer In Charge (EIC) to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during events. 
  • Work alongside other production staff to meet the video and graphic needs of the event, following direction to ensure cohesive presentation. 
  • Collect and manage assets, scheduling the sponsorship rotation for ribbon boards and scorer’s table to maximize partner visibility. 
  • Resize and adjust graphics and motion graphics to fit the specifications of in-arena LED boards accurately. 

What do you need to succeed?

  • Completion of a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework or equivalent self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. is preferred. Educational requirements may vary based on the role. 
  • 1-2 years of previous production experience, preferably with a live sports background. 
  • Proficient with Windows, PC, Mac workstations, and Daktronics systems. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (including Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) for video, motion, and still graphics production. 
  • Familiarity with TV production equipment, including audio mixing, video switching, video routing, data processing, modulation and distribution systems, and transport systems. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment, maintaining composure under pressure. 
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, and diplomacy with a commitment to company values and principles. 
  • Skilled at maintaining positive, professional relationships with a diverse group and working collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays. 

Special Requirements

  • Extensive standing, walking, and keyboard usage are required, along with performing general administrative duties.  
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and be prepared to address any technical issues that may arise during events.
