Who are we hiring?
We have a team of highly-trained hospitality professionals who stretch across various areas of our business and provide top tier guest experiences. The VIP Event Specialist supports VIP and Celebrity functions in our venues (Madison Square Garden, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, Beacon Theater and Radio City Music Hall, among others), as well as company events that take place offsite throughout the year. The position requires a self-starter who can multi-task and maintain close attention to detail in the lead-up to events, while also providing exceptional experiences to our guests during events. The VIP Specialist will benefit from enhanced hospitality and event training, along with development opportunities in the areas of Company Events, VIP Hospitality and Celebrity Relations. This position is part-time and scheduled on an event-driven basis
What will you do?
- Prep and execution for a variety of events, including pre-event organization and set-up of elements (gifting, décor, guest lists, etc.); on-site assistance during events for ingress/egress, hospitality and activations; and post-event wrap-up.
- Create positive and memorable guest experiences during sporting, entertainment, family and corporate events
- Execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced service environment
What do you need to succeed?
- Two years of experience in a hospitality or events
- Detail-oriented, self-sufficient individual with great interpersonal skills
- Skilled at working collaboratively and in a team environment
- Ability to solve problems, resolve conflicts and handle customer situations in a timely and discreet manner befitting a VIP environment
- Manage heavy volume of customer interaction and multi-task in a highly visible environment
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and transport/handle boxes containing event elements
Special Requirements
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule inclusive of days, evenings, weekends and holidays, with some opportunities for travel
