Who are we hiring

The Senior Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the monthly closing process, account analysis, quarterly external, internal, and tax reporting packages for corporate departments, including threat management, technology, legal, people practices, finance and government affairs. The Senior Director provides strategic direction and leadership to the team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. As a cross-functional collaborator, The Senior Director is critical to supporting the company’s financial operations, ensuring transparency and providing insightful analysis to facilitate decision making.

What will you do?

  • Lead a team of accounting professionals, managing public company monthly closing for corporate accounting, including the preparation of all journal entries, company-wide mass allocations, recurring entries and account reconciliations in accordance with the monthly closing calendar.
  • Manage quarterly external reporting deliverables, tax compliance and internal and external audit requests.
  • Review Oracle financial reports for variances and provide guidance and assistance to Corporate Accounting staff. Ensuring timely and accurate closing of Oracle General Ledger and fixed asset subledgers.
  • Manage debt, pension plan accounting, stock compensation, and other employee benefit accounting matters.
  • Oversee the fixed asset process, including the operating effectiveness of key controls such as Capital Authorization Request approval process and related reconciliation process between subledger and general ledger.
  • Effectively manage, motivate, and train assigned staff and provide regular (daily where appropriate) status of work-in-progress responsibilities to the Vice President of Accounting.
  • Evaluate and identify areas of potential exposure and internal control weakness and evaluate and improve processes and workflows to improve completion times.
  • Assist in updates and system conversions for general ledger and subledgers, suggest enhancements, and confirm functionality of delivered products meet requested expectations.
  • Provide insight on current processes and supporting the Finance groups in delivery of Budget and Forecasts.

What do you need to succeed?

  • BS or BA in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience, in public accounting and/or accounting in private industry
  • Attention to detail, strong self-review & strict adherence to deadlines is critical
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a changing environment
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, tailoring the message based on the purpose, audience, and channel
  • Prior supervisory experience a must
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with Financial Systems and corporate applications with Oracle Cloud (Fusion) proficiency strongly preferred
  • Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear
  • CPA strongly preferred

$134,000$190,000 USD
