Who are we hiring?
The Senior Manager Visualization & Performance Capture will outfit, deploy, and supervise internal and external visualization and performance capture teams applying relevant virtual camera and motion capture technology for Sphere main shows, residencies and other Sphere internal and external applications.
What will you do?
- Lead the creation, operation, and troubleshooting of MSG Visualization and Performance Capture Volumes and Toolsets
- Maintain and operate active and passive tracking volume for use in virtual camera sessions and multi person performance capture including all live data streaming, retargeting, and input devices
- Assist with troubleshooting issues involving assets, virtual camera data, mocap data, and interactive tools
- Work with VTR playback team on routing of all video signals for display, monitoring, and playback
- Oversee capture sessions ensuring all timecode, data, and imagery is recorded properly for creative and editorial decisions
- Stay at the forefront of visualization and virtual production capture tools, from camera tracking and motion capture to post workflows and mastering technologies to support ongoing consistency, quality, and efficiency improvements across virtual content creation.
- Collaborate with other real time visualization and interactive teams within the organization
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelors Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years experience in tracking volumes both active and passive, virtual cameras, and performance capture (Preferably Optitrack)
- 5+ years experience in Unreal Engine and streaming all relevant data required for virtual camera and performance capture sessions
- 3+ years experience in virtual production, virtual reality, or location based interactive experiences
- Excellent understanding of visualization pipeline from asset building to delivering finished data
- Excellent understanding of Motive, Motionbuilder, Faceware, and Stretchsense
- Strong scripting abilities in C++ and Python
- Strong understanding of source control tools (Perforce a plus)
- Understanding of digital video production, digital workflows, cinematography, and/or post production environment
- Adaptable/flexible in high-stress environments
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willing to travel when needed
