Who are we hiring?

MSG is looking for an experienced Coloring & Conform Artist to join a groundbreaking post-production department based in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for working with the Finishing Department and the Technical Color Supervisor. The Coloring & Conform Artist is a point of continuity for the working color pipeline from start to finish and will act as a hands-on guide for guest talent that will be working on Sphere projects inside and outside of our facility. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated extensive prior experience as a Coloring & Conform Artist working on major A-list projects. They will work closely with creatives from capture through to delivery. They will need to have solid aesthetics and very strong technical experience and problem-solving capability. 

What will you do? 

  • Set up projects and ensure that the color pipeline standards are being adhered to 
  • Assist colorists in session setup, conforms, and color tasks such as initial balance, masking, tracking, and rippling adjustments across multiple clips.  
  • Work with the color supervisor to develop out SOP’s for guest colorists and talent. 
  • Act as a knowledge base for all things Sphere for external talent. 
  • Execute and QC check files and renders after sessions are completed. 
  • Conform and QC editorial and plate changes prior to session start. 
  • Knowledge of ACES color workflows, custom camera color pipelines and DI processing techniques 

What do you need to succeed? 

  • Exceptional attention to detail is mandatory. 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Coloring Conform Artist. 
  • In depth knowledge of Editorial, pipelines and workflows. 
  • Expert level knowledge of Filmlight Baselight, DaVinci Resolve or similar professional color correction platforms. 
  • Working knowledge with post-production processes and workflows including ingest, editing, visual effects, motion graphics, and audio. 
  • Excellent problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills. 
  • Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines. 
  • This role will be creative facing, should be able to communicate clearly with creatives and deliver on creative deadlines.

Pay Range
$130,000$155,000 USD
