Senior Supervisor Security & Field Training

Who are we hiring:

 

The Senior Supervisor will be accountable for providing an exceptional guest experience throughout MSG’s venues as it relates to security.  This role will focus on creating a safe and secure environment and leading the training and development of all officers within Threat Management.  The Senior Security Supervisor will report to the Security Manager.

 

What will you do?

 

Security

  • Accountable for daily supervision and leadership of building and event security officers.
  • Responsible for various administration items such as scheduling, invoices, incident reports, daily reports, and documentation logs.
  • Addresses guests’ concerns, feedback and suggestions in a timely and efficient manner
  • May be tasked with managing or supporting additional programs that facilitate security operations such as equipment inventory, conducting security advances and walkthroughs for visiting VIP’s, improving team processes, completing long term projects, and representing security leadership to other internal teams.
  • Perform other security duties as assigned to support the Threat Management division
  • Supervision of Building and/or Event Security officers

 

 

Field Training

  • Lead continuous education and development for all officers
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new officers through the department onboarding curriculum.   
  • Assess, train, evaluate, and coach front line colleagues utilizing previous experience and company provided programs. Trainers will conduct “on the spot” training during shifts 2 – 3 times/week, depending on event schedule and tracking of personnel trained.
  • Assistance with other company projects, initiatives, and training. (Ex. Workforce updates, Policy acknowledgments and other company assigned learning, 24/7)  

 

What do you need to succeed? 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in the security, law enforcement, or military field
  • Demonstrated experience in some or all of the following areas: guard force scheduling and management, conducting security advances, training security officers, responding to security emergencies, physical security project management, crowd management, documenting staff performance and writing security policy.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to create and present reports, and engage with all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to perform at high levels and holding team accountable for achieving business goals and objectives.
  • Comfortable with managing conflict and responding to guest issues with a sense of urgency

 

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Prior experience leading a union workforce and preferably have knowledge of events, sports, theatre operations, within an entertainment venue.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading Learning & Development projects

 

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment
  • General physical requirements such as lifting 25 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required.
