Engineer/Mechanic

Who are we hiring?

The Engineer/Mechanic will work with the Engineering Department performing repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment and will also answer service calls during events. Repairs include plumbing, HVAC and R as well as other mechanical repairs as required. The Engineer/Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and will record readings on critical equipment.

What will you do?

  • The Engineer/Mechanic will be familiar with the service and repair of complex HVAC systems similar to the FHP, Trane, Aaon and Liebert systems that are newly installed in the building.
  • This position will perform repairs, PM’s and inspections of all HVAC and Refrigeration systems
  • Service and make minor repairs to all refrigeration systems such as the Hoshizaki, Traulsen, Perlick, Bally and Viking systems throughout the building.
  • Perform plumbing repairs and other routine repairs throughout the facility.
  • Answer all service calls during scheduled events and address any repairs or concerns accordingly
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all necessary equipment
  • Record and maintain readings on all critical equipment; maintain inventories of spare parts and materials.
  • In this role, you will be accountable for individual and team repairs that occur.
  • This position will, at times, require unscheduled overtime to cover watches and events.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Must be familiar with the service and repair of complex HVAC systems similar to the FHP, Trane, Aaon and Liebert systems
  • Must have experience servicing systems such as Hoshizaki, Traulsen, Perlick, Bally and Viking
  • Must possess a FDNY C of Q Refrigeration Engineer as well as all C of F needed to perform the duties as a mechanic at MSG.
  • Be able to be flexible when called to work in other areas of the engineering department as needed such as watch coverage, fire guard and working on other engineering projects as the operational needs dictate.

Special Requirements

  • Able to walk and stand during the entire shift. 
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
