Who are we hiring?

The Manager People Practices partners with the business to understand, implement and execute the company’s People Practice strategy related to all aspects to the employee experience, including but not limited to current and future talent needs, talent acquisition, culture building, development, engagement, employee relations and talent retention.  This dynamic role will support specific business units within the MSG companies with primary support for Sphere Entertainment Co.

What will you do?

  • Contribute to and support the delivery of strategic talent initiatives across a variety of disciplines, inclusive but not limited to: culture building, organizational development, talent management, compensation planning, employee relations, inclusion and diversity.
  • Contribute to and support the delivery of decisions around organization design, compensation, employee development, and talent density for assigned business units.   
  • Possess a heightened awareness of the needs of the business and seen as a trusted partner for all employees. Act as a collaborator and consultant for the business.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company policy and procedures, while promoting a positive employee morale. 
  • Assist in all employee life-cycle related processes including onboarding, performance management, career development, and offboarding process.
  • Provides support and guidance to business leaders and other staff when complex, specialized, and employee relations questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing and terminations. Partners with employee relations team to ensure consistency and appropriate remedial actions are being executed.
  • Partners with the People Acquisitions and management teams regarding the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Partners with the People Development and management teams to ensure training and development needs for the business are being explore and executed Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends (inclusive of the local market), best practices and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management and employment law.
  • Optimize efficiencies and streamlined efforts to drive and implement change and support a strong infrastructure. Assess and mitigate risk as needed.  

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources management or related field of work 
  • A self-starter, demonstrating curiosity about the business and organization with a desire to uplevel the partnership with the teams they support
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability and interest for hands-on execution 
  • Adept at exploring and analyzing data to identify insights and opportunities for business impact
  • Approachable and thoughtful collaborator with the ability to inspire employees at all levels into action; empathetic and a strong sense of self-awareness
  • Comfortable working autonomously and able to demonstrate proactivity in identifying and addressing potential challenges and implementing timely and effective remedial action
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values and mission in addition to key HR guiding principles.
  • Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills. Effective active listening skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills; strong ability to influence decisions
  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment to providing and implementing comprehensive and holistic resolution.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical/problem-solving skills; strong sense of curiosity and ability to ask effective questions.
  • Ability to act with a high level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Pay Range
$83,000$125,000 USD
