Who are we hiring?

Under the general direction and supervision of the Manager, Event Presentation, the Westchester Knicks Event Presentation Game Night Staff (WCK EP GNS) are responsible for executing and facilitating all elements in support of the Westchester Knicks Game Day entertainment strategy and key initiatives for the 2024-25 NBA G League season. As part of the WCK EP GNS team, you will assist with the coordination and delivery of all live game elements, including on-court promotions, live announcing, and crowd engagement activities. These positions are part-time but will require late nights and open availability.

 

The Westchester Knicks play 24 home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. Background checks will be administered through Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. and the NBA.

 

What will you do?

  • Coordinate and execute game-day elements, including live shots, on-court promotions, and special presentations, to enhance the overall fan experience.
  • Assist with managing the flow of all performers on the court and back of house, ensuring smooth transitions and timely execution of all elements.
  • Deliver clear, enthusiastic, and accurate announcements during the game, including player introductions, in-game promotions, and sponsor messages.
  • Engage with fans in the stands and on the court, contributing to an energetic and interactive atmosphere.
  • Serve as a point of contact for performers, special guests, and entertainment groups, providing direction and support throughout the event.
  • Collaborate with the Event Presentation team to ensure all game scripts and promotional elements are executed according to plan.
  • Assist with the management and distribution of props, prizing, and promotional materials.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor while interacting with fans, performers, and team staff.
  • Attend pre-game production meetings to discuss event logistics and align on the game day strategy.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Event Presentation.

 

 

What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience in live event production, stage management, announcing, or entertainment roles is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and focus.
  • Strong vocal presence and the ability to deliver announcements clearly and confidently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and energize large crowds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for providing exceptional entertainment experiences.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with availability for all Westchester Knicks home games.
  • Familiarity with basketball and an understanding of the Westchester Knicks' brand and audience is a plus.

Special Requirements

  • Available to work nights and weekends, with a start time 3 hours before game time.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 75% of all home games during the season.
