Who are we hiring?

The MSG Manager of Security will oversee the operational proficiency and training curriculum of Security Supervisors, Officers, Security Operations Center Team Members, and Security Supervisors at the Madison Square Garden Arena. This position will work closely with other MSG Leaders to help provide a Safe, Secure, and Friendly environment, while ensuring the highest-level customer service experiences for all visitors, vendors and employees of MSG Properties. This position will report to the Senior Director Security.

What will you do? 

  • Provide a Safe, Secure, & Friendly environment with world class customer service to visitors, vendors, and employees at the Madison Square Garden Arena.
  • Will assist Security Leadership teams and local law enforcement to develop and implement periodic threat-based scenario table-top exercises and familiarization walk-throughs of appropriate MSG Properties.
  • Ensure the proficiency and operation of the MSG Proprietary Security Team and its 3rd party Security Teams through documented training procedures and daily operational oversight.
  • Develop/Maintain/Implement security SOPs, Training Curriculum, and Security best practices.
  • Ensure consistency & high level of execution by security personnel of all policies, standards, and procedures across multiple MSG Properties.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage security support for entertainment and sports events.
  • Where appropriate, act as a liaison with local law enforcement, client representatives, talent/sports team security and outside agencies.
  • Conduct periodic security risk assessments, physical security assessments, and threat assessments at MSG Properties.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and resolve security incidents and/or problems including those affecting clients, guests, and/or staff.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to minimize expense and maximize budgeted results while maintaining optimal operating efficiency.
  • In tandem with Production team, oversee load-in and installation of equipment by defined deadlines in NYC Venues 
  • Perform any and all other security functions as needed to support Threat Management
  • Supervision of Supervisors and Building Security Officers

What do you need to succeed?

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years’ Security/Operations experience with a proven history of Supervising a large (20 or more) Member Team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both physical & technical security measures and best practices.
  • Ability to train and manage cross functional teams while building internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to hold team accountable for outcomes and monitor performance.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to perform at high levels.
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills with excellent verbal & written communication skills. Self-Starter Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • College Degree Preferred. Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are considered. 
  • Must be willing to travel to other locations as required.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing security environment in order to meet company needs.

Special Requirements

  • General physical requirement such as lifting 25lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, working in inclement conditions, lead and assist in evacuation of guests and staff, ability to walk up and traverse downstairs, bending and constant motion is often required.
  • Ability to travel as required in support of investigations or security operations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment
  • Must be willing to travel to other locations as required.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing security environment in order to meet company needs.

Pay Range
$83,000$120,000 USD
