Who are we hiring?
The Senior Network Operations Engineer is a subject matter expert on routing and switching who is responsible for maintaining the MSGE network enterprise and resolving network issues as they arise. The Senior Network Operations Engineer is responsible for network device configuration, network monitoring tool design and implementation, detailed network analysis, i.e., collating and correlating multiple log files to ensure that live events are executed to a high standard. The Senior Network Operations Engineer role occupies the nexus between network architecture and venue technology and must understand how venue systems traverse the network architecture. The Senior Network Operations Engineer provides Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to operations, monitors and examines, evaluates and monitors change management, executes fulfils the request for Network Devices such as Routers, Firewalls, WAN Optimization.
What will you do?
- Installs, operates, and maintains the network and network infrastructure the Engineer serves as an administrator for infrastructure on the production network.
- Executes troubleshooting and incident management as required.
- Responsible for documenting LAN/WAN configuration and maintains architectural diagrams.
- Conducts a periodic review of network infrastructure firmware/software.
- Responsible for process documentation and providing status reports to leadership.
- Provides technical assistance in support of infrastructure, server and network, changes to ensure system functionality post-change.
- Applies observed network performance to assist the Network Architects to design networks that better mitigate identified risk or increase venue system functionality.
- Generates and executes service request / change case tickets; escalates incidents as required to company leadership and participates in the 24x7 “on call” rotation.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or computer engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of enterprise network operations experience – must be “hands on keyboard.”
- 4+ years of experience with enterprise systems platforms such as compute, storage, data centers and automation.
- 3+ years’ experience supporting large events, venues, and complex networks with absolute fault tolerance in mind.
- Ability to technically troubleshoot network related outages.
- Ability to utilize various tool sets which support monitoring and alerting across diverse platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity to public cloud services providers specifically AWS and Azure.
- Proficient understanding of all aspects of network security and security elements – supported networks with proper controls and governance from conception to execution.
- Knowledge of product platforms such as Cisco, Citrix, Palo Alto, and Juniper.
- Knowledge of integration experience working with event correlation platforms and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of broadcast networks and streaming technology – supported networks which feed content and data to social media sites and other digital properties.
