Who are we hiring?

The Senior Vice President Procurement will lead the global procurement function and be responsible for the procurement strategy of diverse business activities at Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Madison Square Garden Sports, and Sphere Entertainment Co which also includes MSG Networks. The SVP Procurement will be focused on setting a global strategy for each business using a procurement process that addresses key specific risks, with swift IT transformative change at the forefront.  The SVP Procurement will manage a team that is focused on efficiencies, cost savings, and internal spending controls and will report to the SVP Controller and Principal Accounting Officer. In collaboration with the corporate accounting group, the SVP Procurement will review our Procurement-to-Pay end-to-end processes to identify and enhance efficiencies and automation where appropriate. 

What will you do?

  • Set and execute a global procurement strategy for businesses within the MSG Family of Companies. (MSG Entertainment, MSG Sports, Sphere – Las Vegas and future expansion activities, MSG Networks, and associated food, beverage, and merchandise activities within our venues.)
  • Lead swift IT transformation throughout the global procurement process with a focus on automation and productivity.
  • Lead a team of procurement professionals focusing on processing and approval of purchase requisitions; overseeing the bidding process; working with vendors to ensure best possible pricing, quality, discounts, and payments terms favorable to MSG.
  • Lead the evaluation of bid exception requests as appropriate.
  • Enhance processes and controls to allow for greater control over spending.
  • Ensure that there is integrity and transparency in the selection of vendors.
  • Present spending dashboards and other relevant KPIs to executive leadership on a regular basis
  • Work closely with Threat Management on the review of new vendor relationships.
  • Update Procurement policies and procedures as businesses evolve with a focus on global growth and on enhanced internal controls around all spending activities.

 What do you need to succeed?

  • BS in Finance, Business, Purchasing or Operations related field; MBA preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in general procurement role; Minimum of four years of experience in a VP or SVP role.   
  • Ability to effectively build relationships at all levels and have dynamic presence with various executive leaders.
  • Ability to translate goals into procurement opportunities as well as effectively communicate progress.          
  • Expert technical depth in procurement best practices – particularly in procurement transformation strategies, and process and improvements with focus on complete procure-to-pay processes within Coupa and Oracle.
  • Ability to automate and improve processes.
  • Experience in managing and developing talent within a large diverse team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient technical abilities to navigate software applications (Coupa & Oracle) and Microsoft Office.

Pay Range
$320,000$380,000 USD
